The Mac mini STILL gets no respect

Just a quick followup to the whole Mac mini at Costco thing.

There a pictures of the gigantic grab-and-go bubble pack that contains a Mac mini, wireless keyboard and mouse, and AppleCare. Grab and go?! [via]

That has to be one of the funniest, yet saddest things I’ve sen regarding a Mac Mini. They’re no different than your average memory card. Seeing the Mini in packaging like that makes me think you can pick one of those up like they were jumbo jars of Mayo.

The fact that they’re using Arial (I think) instead of Myriad for the text is even worse.

By the way, Dan, do you still have the “album” art for smashthesilence? I noticed u guys took it off the podcast directory, so i couldn’t use the iTMS script here to get it, and my ipod doesn’t have any art when listening to your podcast.

this is indeed not cool since everything (except videos) in my iTL has art.

Even though this packaging doesn’t do the mini justice I can see a bright side to this. I mean it could get more people to buy it that have not used a mac before. You get a full computer key board and a might mouse (I would assume), along with a apple care plan and it is an simple plastic casing at a relatively cheap price. While I’m sure this wasn’t Apples first choice for packaging, I think it could make it a little more accessible and less intimidating.
