Honda to add Google Earth to cars

Sorry kids, Japan first!

Honda will soon add Google Earth to its ‘internavi Premium Club’ navigation service in Japan. The advanced navigation system was first launched in 2003, offering a wireless connection to the internet to download the latest traffic information to the built-in computer.

Now, I haven’t had much luck with Google Earth with directions, but I know people who are LUSTING after a product like this. Thanks for the tip Jim!

Cool beans, but honestly, shouldn’t it be google maps, since earth uses images produced sometimes 10 years ago?

But I digress… I’ve been using the CHP website for months planning my routes. Nothing like knowing where the accidents are to shorten my trips.

That’s totally awesome; I’m glad that this kind of stuff should be standard in the US by the time I’m middle aged.

Better than MSN Maps, I mean…

What if we actually wanted to go to 1, Infinite Loop, Cupertino? :P

Volkswagen announced Google Earth integration in February, and demonstrated it in March (http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2006/03/google_earth_fo_3.html). Germany, not Japan, first.
