Of interest for TiVo users

Does anyone still use TiVo? If so, Videora has something worth checking out.

Videora TiVo Converter is a free video conversion application developed by the creators of Videora. It allows you to convert your regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into the proper video format that your TiVo understands.

I’m not too sure why someone would need a PC friendly file format to TiVo conversion utility. Isn’t the main idea of recording video to save locally on your hardrive for later viewing?

Ok, so you can transcode feature films or other video clips that you may have acquired to TiVo’s format…

…do they have a way of getting said files onto your TiVo box for viewing on the big screen?

Does Tivo have like a usb cable coming out the back to connect to your computer? I know nothing about tivo, so I wouldn’t know.

This is a great option. Say that your tivo is loaded with your programming. Like on Thursday night. CSI is on the same time as My Name is Earl. I don’t have a dual head Tivo. I can only record one. So I record CSI and download the torrent of Earl. Of course Earl is in a DIVX format. My wife and I don’t want to sit in my office to watch tv on the computer. So I have to format it to mpeg2 format to play on the Tivo. I.E. Perfect example of how to use this softare.

Another scenario. I have home video. If i convert it to Mpeg, I can watch it on my tivo.

And yes, tivo to go is how you get the video up to the Tivo.
