It’s official: Dell buys Alienware

A merge of two cultures. Dell has agreed to purchase gaming PC maker Alienware, in a rare and odd acquisition designed to improve Alienware’s supply chain and boost Dell’s standing among PC enthusiasts.

As of now there will be no cross-marketing of Dell and Alienware PCs on their respective Web sites, at least initially. Also Alienware has NO plans to drop the AMD processors, allowing AMD for the first time to get some traction in Dell.

That should have been an expensive buy o-0. Anyone knows how much Dell paid for it?
And I think intel processors are better than AMD… At least IMHO (excluding that stupid Celeron processor, that’s the worse thing ever invented in the whole world… My atlon 1.66g is WAAAY better, in all ways, than my friends celeron 2.0g. Stability, speed, reliability, etc etc…)

“Dell said Alienware would operate as a wholly owned subsidiary and will keep its brand name and its own product development, marketing, sales, technical support and other operations.”

I just hope these two products don’t combine…if they do it’s probably the end of good computers (alienware). I have a Dell, and even though it’s performance is substantial, it’s not the best… I guess time may have something to do with it, but I’ve heard the Alienware computers are awesome!
