Web 2.0 and the 2.0 Culture

An interesting read regarding the latest web design trends of “Web 2.0″.

In order to get attention to your brand-new 2.0Culture backed website, you need to bring up some decent “up-to-date design with it. No, I am not talking about CSS instead of tables or suchlike. I am talking about simplicity combined with big fonts, shiny shaders and very, very strange brand names. Despite the fact that you need to do your homework learning about tags, clouds and plenty more of these catchy words – you can still be a great “new wave designer – without being a pro 2.0Culture technology geek.

Large obnoxious fonts, pastel colors, gradients, rounded corners, and minimalism. What’s not to like? What are your thoughts regarding these latest trends?

I vaguely recall the computer classes during high school on Frontpage where the standard font of choice was Times New Roman (yuck).

I almost turned the current UNEASY theme to reflect the latest trends. What would your thoughts have been?

U guys sure look 2.0 to me!

Just change “Categories” to Tags and fake the different font-sizes based on popular Tags. ;)

BTW, your site works as expected in IE 7… which I’m using right now.

    tomas,

i ran the beta 7 a few days back and the syndicated links were a little off the page for me. i never got around to fixing it yet because i figured only a very small percentage of win users would even attempt to run 7 as their daily browser. are the links lining up with the left side of the page?
