First CoComment, now Co.mment?!

Hot on the heals of CoComment, Co.mment aims to provide a similar centralized commenting system.

Co.mment seems to offer the same feature set as that offered by CoComment with an additional detail that some may soon begin to confuse registered users. Based off the name alone, can you spot the difference?

There is one feature that Co.mment has over CoComment; that is Co.mment allows users to begin tracking a posts comments based on the url alone without any prior comments left by the user.

Are we going to see anymore of these centralized commenting services pop up over the new few months? I think so. Think of all the centralized social bookmarking services.

Try It

    That’s just copying!

The name alone is not quite as close as you thing, Derek. Take another closer look. There’s coComments that we’ve been using (and love and sticking with it), and there’s this copycat co.mments. No extra “c”. ;)

“… not as close as you *think*…” (darned 3AM commenting)

    thanks :-)

co.mments.com is all about making it easy to follow conversations in real time. it started as a personal itch, and I’m happy to see other people find it useful.

From the look of it Co.mments is in a further stage then cocomment. Already they have integration for blogs and they have the option to remove a conversation, which I still haven’t found at cocomment. Or am I missing something?

I think the key piece was to keep the design simple, and just focus on what users really need. Everything else just fell into place.

I think I like co.mments better than Co.comment. Sometimes it doesn’t tell me there are update, so I leave people hanging.
