You’d think after the first 10 negatives in a row that people would start to figure it out…don’t people check feedback before they bid? I guess this is evidence that they don’t.

i think most bidders go off of what they see on the item page that displays the sellers feedback percentage. i guess some bidders figure anything over 50% is good? i personally wouldn’t want to deal with anyone below 95%

I initially thought the same thing until I actually went to the user’s feedback page… He had been a seller for more than two years and had gained Power Seller status with eBay, with more than 98% positive feedback. However, in December he listed more than 400 auctions for merchandise he didn’t have, which all ended on the same day. When the auctions ended and people sent their payments, he had virtually no negative feedback. It was only in the days after when people started to realize they had been scammed that they posted the feedback. I googled this guy’s name, and there are several news stories about how he’s wanted by the federal government in connection with this whole scam.

Because all the auctions finished on the same day, therefore all negative feedback arrived after the dirty deed was done!
