Upcoming face-lift for UNEASYsilence

As is the UNEASY way, Dan and I felt a fresh look was in order for the oh six year. For that reason, and that reason alone, I crawled under a rock and hid for the past few days to throw together a new WordPress theme dubbed 5ThreeOne One (yes there is a valid explanation for the title).

Consider this a harmless teaser. A small glimpse of an upcoming face-lift for the UNEASYsilence front page and all of our loyal readers.

    I’ve seen your screenshots on flickr they look nice. Jake, I think they plan on having a black on white design as well as a white on black layout.

    doug is correct. there will be an alternate stylesheet for those who prefer the traditional dark on light.

    Don’t mind me if I rant a little bit, and it may be off-topic, but IMO, the dark ages are over. Dark websites were cool a couple years ago, but now they’re getting old, and lame. You see many sites now switching over from light on dark to vice versa. I’ve seen 3 communities I regular change to a new light skin in the past year. Lighter colors seem much more neater, organized, and cleaner. Dark colors can be appropriate in the right situations, but UES just doesn’t seem like a ‘dark’ site, sorry…

    I know you’ll be providing an alternative, but I’m just giving my opinion on the new design here. I’ve been viewing UES for 3 skins, and they just all keep going downhill. Here’s hoping that the next is an improvement. :)
