REALLY GET Windows Live Messenger 8 without an invite

Yea, we pulled the trigger a little early on this one.

But now we can report that you can indeed get Windows Live Messenger 8 without an invite.

This one definitely falls into the at-your-own-risk category: A beta version of Windows Live Messenger 8, nee MSN Messenger, has been available for download from Microsoft.com for some time now, but without an invitation to the private beta test it has been impossible to use, until now. The trick is to use a recently-released “proxy patch” to fool the MSN network into thinking you’re running version 7.5, thus allowing you to log on without being part of the private beta. Pretty clever, but dont’ blame me if it messes up your system. Once again, try it at your own risk.

Read these instructions carefully. And be sure you download the REAL version of the messenger from Microsoft

    i imagine the loophole no longer exists with the recent updates to wlm8.

    i had 9 invites left but forgot about them now msn has deleted the email with them in coz i left it for ages. anyway if you sign into msn all day every day after about a week you should get an email off microsoft inviting you to download and install wlm. this happened on both of my addies, one was a brand new addy and after about a week i got the email on it. so if ya sign into msn every day and leave it signed in for about 10 hours like i did microsoft should detect you’re a frequent user and invite you to download and install wlm.
