The delay of help in new orleans was NOT because of race! Why the heck would our president be like ‘ohh.. New Orleans, thems all black people, lets let them wait a few days.. hehehe’. While I agree that Kanye should keep his mouth to his music, there Is value to the controversy he brings. Whether you strongly agree or disagree, the fact of the matter is that he’s got people talking and dialogue amongst people who wouldn’t ordinarily be speaking on such subject matter is incredibly meaningful. I respect your opion and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Bush doesn’t hate black people, he hates POOR people.

Look, whether or not he’s a douche, and whether or not New Orleans was about black people, that’s not racism. Racism is systematic discrimination based on race. As you imply, it’s NOT coincidence that most people below the poverty line are black. It’s quite simple: we (read European immegrants to America) stole them from their countries, forced them to work for no pay for a couple hundred years, then turned them out on the street. Racism is what keeps them poor. How did Kanye’s words keep an entire people oppressed based on the color of their skin? Now, even if you mean “prejudice”, Kanye didn’t say “I hate white people” or even “white people don’t care about black people” (which for the most part might be true). He said “George Bush doesn’t care about black people”. Big freakin’ whoop.
