Mass MySpace suicide imminent?
After toying with MySpace for the past few months, I’ve decided that a MySpace suicide is imminent. For being the million kajillion dollar networking service that has attracted users from across the world, it’s disappointing to see no new features added to the MySpace preferences pane. The commenting system, messages, and interface are archaic at best.

I’ve recently stumbled upon Tagworld which is the reason for this very post. Tagworld embodies all of the latest trends of the social Web 2.0 including:
- Photosharing
- Bookmarks sharing
- AJAX (drag n’ drop modules for adding content)
- Tags (tag your images, people, bookmarks, content, etc.)
- Integrated Google Maps
- Integrated media players (share songs and playlists)
- Blogging
- File Storage
Background information on Tagworld:
Krueger, chief executive of the company says that while there are many discrete services out there, (such as Flickr and Blogger) it is difficult for those non-techies to cobble together a perfect personal page. In other words, they took everything that’s hot, and put it into a blender, and came up with a mass-market offering. Will this “remix be too much for the mass market, especially when compared to folksy simplicity of MySpace? #
I’ve obviously left out a few important features as I’ve spent the last few minutes quickly perusing the options. Individuals hoping to utilize HTML / CSS will admire Tagworlds decision for greater design flexibility. For those weary of following a few links to quickly study either topics, Tagworld conveniently offers six preconfigured layout options. Again, drag n’ drop module flexibility provides users with the option to adjust what content goes where on pages.
