How-To: Search for iTMS artists in your browser

To supplement the rest of our mirrored iTunes Music Store scripts [Album Art (orig) & Movie Trailers], I’m happy to announce yet another script compliments of Tristan.

Our latest iTMS script, or “iTunes Search”, provides users with a web interface for searching the vast music library offered by Apple’s iTunes Music Store. If you’re interested in an easier interface for completing your album art collection, look no further. Use the following steps as an example for locating all album covers related the Thievery Corporation.

itms albums

Click for an example preview of what the iTunes Search script pulls for Thievery Corporation.

  • Follow this link to jump to the iTunes Search page.
  • In the ‘Artist’ field, type Thievery Corporation. Alternatively, you can also search by album or song.
  • The iTunes Search script will crawl the iTMS database for all respective album covers based on your specified search terms.
  • Click on the album cover of your choice to open a high resolution album cover which you can then import (drag n’ drop or “Save image as…”) into iTunes or media player of your choice.

No more fuss. A great way to make your album cover collection complete.

Is it only showing US only album art?

I’ve been trying to get the album art for Andrew Thompson’s egad! but it’s not available on the US iTunes store and only the name shows up on your new search function but not the album art. Of course when I try to use the old way iTMS won’t even let me view the album because it’s “not available in your country”.

Then why do they not filter the results to only albums I can buy, whats the point in showing me things I can’t have.
