Banned X-Box Ad

I don’t know which ad agency did this ad that Microsoft apparently rejected, but it is outstanding. I am going to assume the faux-violence was simply not the message MS wanted out there. I think this is another example of a big company playing it safe, and missing a huge opportunity.

Supposedly this was out for some time, but this is the first time I’ve seen it. Do you think that this ad should have been banned?

ridiculous. i see nothing wrong with the above commercial. what is the difference between the above clip and commercials which show actual video content of shootouts? [Socom?]

It was done by 72 and Sunny and McCann Erickson

I sent this in to your tip address a few weeks ago.. I even got a reply..

Oh, and I forgot to mention, it has also been confirmed by Microsoft that this wasn’t actually banned, and it did air at the Xbox 360 launch event. They just chose not to air it after that.

Amazing… very very well done… Lots of people uh?!

Gotta be banned. No place for it given the rabid gun violence problems in the U.S. right now.

Why would that be banned? TV shows have far worse violence. And that commercial wasn’t even violent! there weren’t even guns! Hopefully microsoft will put it on the air cause that commercial is awesome!

    What a great ad. It’d convince me to get a 360 =)

Why pay even more money to air it, when it could be released online, and seen mostly by it’s core demographic for free…. and that core demographic wouldn’t have a problem with the faux-violence.
