MPAA shaking down the retired folks
What the hell is the MPAA doing here? Suing a 67 year old grandfather for $600,000?!
The Motion Picture Association of America sued a Wisconsin grandfather on Tuesday for allegedly downloading several movies to his home computer. However, there’s one small problem with the case: the man doesn’t like to watch movies, nor does he have any intention of downloading them.
Assuming Mr. Lawrence has a hefty pension plan, I highly doubt he will be at all capable of paying a sixteenth of what those suits are suing for. I hope Mr. Lawrence counters. Any thoughts on the RIAA’s and MPAA’s willy nillyness to sue no matter how young or old the targets are?
