Microsoft has released a plug-in for the rival open-source Firefox browser to allow users to validate their Windows-based systems prior to downloading software updates from the company. #
Microsoft has finally smartened up by providing a standalone plugin allowing Firefox users the ability to download software updates without having to load Internet Explorer. It was only a matter of time as the number of Firefox users continued to increase the popular browsers marketshare.
