UH OH! Google has something up their sleeve!
Seems like Google is up to NO GOOD. They just hired the lead developer of GAIM.
For the layman, Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, GroupWise Messenger, and Zephyr networks.
Ok, for those keeping score. Gaim works on ALL platfoms (unlike Google talk), and works with AIM, MSN, and Yahoo (unlike Google talk). Could this be their entry into the fiercely competitive IM field?
Also, my thoughts are Google is going to buy AOL. More on that tomorrow.
