Trillian chat logs to Gmail
From time-to-time instant message users may kick themselves because of a previous online conversation that may have taken place. You know, the one where Susie said she’d “owe you a special favor” if you happened to have proof that the conversation took place. You may have logged the conversation on your home computer. The problem is that you need proof now! As in while you’re sitting in front of someone elses computer. That’s where Trillian Pro and the Gmail IM Logger come in:
This allows you to keep all of your conversations in one place regardless of what computer you used. Also, you can use Gmail’s cool search capabilities to search for your old conversations. Conversations appear as emails, with the ‘im’ label, in your Gmail Account.
Trillian Pro is the paid version of the popular Trillian multi-protocol IM client. Windows users only. The Pro version will set you back $25. Be resourceful if you must. Thankfully the plugin is completely free. Once you have your Gmail account settings saved, all of your IM logs – AIM, Yahoo, Jabber, ICQ, MSN – will be automatically forwarded to your Gmail account once active windows are closed. The plugin kindly labels the logs under ‘im’. The downside is that this label can not be changed.
