30Gigs.com – A whole lot o’ email space
Whalen from WhaleSalad was kind enough to send a nice shiny 30Gigs.com invite. What is 30Gigs.com? It’s an “all-in-one” service which offers email and hold your breath… 30 gigabytes of personal file storage. That’s more storage than some users have space on their hardrives.
Combining personal file storage, GD2 signatures and anonymous email all in one service, which would be free. Our main goal is to increase our space even further, to 50 gigs, or maybe 100 as time goes on.
I’ve tested the service for basic email functionality and discovered that it works like any other service. No surprise. Due to the fact that the service is in beta there are glitches and response time slow downs. One error I received was a “Service not available, closing channel” message which denied me from sending any new mail. Temporary error due to server loads I’m sure.

Until 30Gigs offers Yahoo briefcase-like functionality to accounts, the 30 gigabytes of space won’t be of much use. I would love to see better file management upload / management options. Until the service goes public (the service is still invite only), enjoy the screenshots. For those familier with Squirrel mail, you’ll make yourself right at home with 30Gigs.
