MyProgs – Tag and categorize your software
MyProgs is an online service which allows users to post and categorize software that they have loaded on their personal computer(s). Similar to del.icio.us, MyProgs intends on creating a social networking atmosphere based on applications users have posted in their accounts.
I had originally caught wind of this online service a few days back from a Google Groups board. Hat tip to Scott. I almost forgot about the link until I started seeing the URL floating around the net more and more of late.
The idea is simple. Register your free account, manually enter the applications you have installed (along with the URL, version, and a short description), tag, and search for other users with similar applications loaded in their accounts. After entering half of my programs I realized that the service was a bit tedious and decided to quit. There should be some sort of utility to download which scans your computer for all software instead of forcing users to do everything manually.

It’s like del.icio.us and Flickr social networking, except, like, it’s super geek… Ooh look Jane Schmuck has ResHacker installed just like me! I need to get ahold of her!
