How-To: Quickly post to Del.icio.us
This is by far the fastest method for posting links to your del.icio.us account.
I’m all about speed. They don’t call me the 30 second and under man for nothing ya hear me!? I’m talking about anything tech related…
Credit goes out to John Resig. Follow the steps below and you’ll be as fast as me and John.
First, right-click on the following link and choose ‘Bookmark this link’.
Notice where it says CHANGEME? Replace that section with your del.icio.us username.
Second, name the bookmarklet something like Del.icio.us and enter ‘d’ for the keyword. The keyword allows you to jump to the bookmarklet by entering the letter ‘d’ into the address bar.
Example: I can quickly post UNEASYsilence to del.icio.us by jumping to the address bar and hitting ‘d’ + [tags I want to add] followed by the enter key.
From now on you can tag whatever page you’re viewing quickly by doing the following. Hit [Ctrl + L] to jump to the address bar, type ‘d’ followed by whatever tags you wish to add, then hit enter. Also, any text that you highlight on the page prior to posting to del.icio.us will be added to the description field.
