Cookin’ with Google
Surprisingly I used this little Google Hack to decide what to cook for dinner last night.
It’s simple really. Open up your fridge and jot down whatever ingredients you have within. While you’re in there it’s probably a good idea to clean out the moldy remains of last months Kung-Pow chicken. Take that list of ingredients to your computer and enter them into the ‘Cooking with Google’ search box. Choose the type of recipe you’re craving – general, vegan, world wide cuisine, ect. – and click ‘Grab a Recipe’.
The hack actually conducts a regular Google search using your key ingredients on a handful of cooking sites including: AllRecipes, Epicurious, RecipeSource, Cooking.com, and RecipeZaar. There are more sites depending on the type of recipe you’re looking for.
Unfortunately my qeury using the following ingrediants came up with nothing: moldy cheese, fermented milk, bruised apples, and steak. It’s OK though. I figured I could throw it all in a Crockpot to marinate.
