I think the only reason I found this write-up humorous is because I can relate with the author. Maybe you’re sitting in the same boat? The bickering is brought about due to the fact that the “You Win 1-Liter Coke Product” lids on Coca-Cola products are near impossible to redeem. Like the author, I have 11 free 1-liter lids which I haven’t been able to redeem.
You’re reduced, essentially, to begging for a dollar (or $1.50-1.75, usually) from a diffident cashier or a put-upon manager, when it’s obvious that you can afford it, you cheap bastard, trying to get something for nothing.
You see, I’m all about getting my free products. Is anyone else out there getting shunned by grocery stores saying they won’t redeem your Coke bottle caps? Coca-Cola, you’re doing a piss poor job of rewarding your loyal Coke drinkers with their much deserved freebies. I might just have to try my luck with Pepsi-ucks if I don’t receive my free liters!
