Adblock Filterset.G updater

Firefox users who rely on Adblock to keep their browsing experience free of obtrusive advertisements rejoice! Usually Adblock users manually edit their Adblock filterset while browsing on a daily basis. A few months back I found an index of Adblock filtersets here. Once a week I would visit the index and append the latest text file to my browsers filterset.

Today I discovered an extension which automatically updated Adblocks filterset every 5 days. The extension loads the same filtersets from the above pierceive index. The extension is still in beta but worth a try. If you’re a bit hesitant with ‘beta’ tags, manually edit your filterset using the index I linked above.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that these filtersets are compiled by others, your normal browsing may be affected. Take the time to review which parameters have been set in the filtersets. I’ve been using the pierceive filters for browsing – which I do a lot of – and haven’t noticed any problems with missing content.
