Then why couldn’t they fix the problem so they wouldn’t have to release the software.

    Three words:

    Conflict of Interest.

Guy makes software with bugs. Guy buys company to stop bug exploitation.

Anyone else see a slight conflict of interest in this besides me?

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking.

I think the old conspiracy theory was that anti-virus companies were the ones writing most of the viruses; that was what kept them in business and how they were able to respond to viruses so quickly.

But the ever brilliant Microsoft has completely trumped that idea!

Now they get to not only develop and sell not only every major piece of software:
    – OS
    – web browser
    – office-suite of apps
    – even to certify drivers for other companies’ hardware

But they get to develop software extra quickly and insecurly and sell yet ANOTHER product for protection!
They save time by making shoddy software then make MORE more when viruses are written for them and they sell the additional software!

They don’t have to bother developing viruses in-house ;-)

And I thought “Windows Activation” was pure evil. At least it was more obvious.

One nation, under MS, with viruses, and 0 privacy for all.
Let’s all rejoice w/ a rendition of the “Happy Happy Joy Joy!” song!
