Firefox: Follow links without the mouse

Hit-a-Hint provides a way to click elements on the page without a mouse. User can press ‘,’ (comma) button to activate typing mode, and then numbered hints will appear on every link. Typing the number inside the hint over a link and then pressing will ‘click’ the link.

This is one of many extensions available for the Firefox browser. Extensions extend the versatilty of the FF browser (go figure). If you’re looking for more extensions check here. One small tip, If you normally use the spacebar to page down while browsing, go into the extension settings to change the quick keys. By dafualt hitting the spacebar will toggle the link numbers (I changed that key to “.” button).

    You could also implement accesskey using HTML to use alt-whatever shortcuts.

    lliam we could implement accesskey’s to UES but this extension gives you control over other sites as well. it works better if you’re on a normal keyboard. i noticed i was a little faster tapping out numbers on a dedicated number pad instead of using the number keys on a laptop.

    Wow. Who knew that by simply typing in a “,” I could activate approval code for running hidden HTML code. LOL. Can you say “spyware, spamware, addware, remove pc control, remove network installation, and remote access.” You just did – 5 times (plus the original one in quotes) Enjoy.
