This online database (compiled by 80-plus contributors with seemingly endless time on their hands) is a mind-numbingly comprehensive catalog of the famously faux telephone numbers used in film and television. Though the bare-bones site – featuring digits immortalized in everything from Die Hard With a Vengeance to reruns of The Simpsons and Beverly Hills, 90210 – has little practical purpose and could stand a splash of color, there may be no better way to idle away a few minutes.

I always wondered if they numbers that were dialed on television and in movies ever really lead anywhere. If you’re bored… check out the list.

hahahaha, that person had way to much time on his hands!
Its a good list though, wish he’d organize it good, you know, by show, or movie, or abc order.

Before the advent of the bogus 555 numbers, magazines such as Screw (Al Goldstein’s rag) used bogus ads with real numbers.

The 555 numbers gave relief to the phone company customers who received calls from people like me who were curious as to whether or not the numbers actually worked.
