I love these lists. How the hell can anyone make a definitive list since we all have such varied tastes and songs connect with us based on very personal experiences. The cynic in me gets pissed off because the list was created to move newstand copies of rolling stone and, probably, move downloads via a partnership with one of the services.

But, the music lover in me is telling the cynic to shut the fuck up and read on. Derek was right, there are some good tunes here.

How about you folks — just off the top of my head, my top ten might include…

    1) What is Life – George Harrison
    2) Jessica – The Allman Brothers
    3) Perfect Kiss – New Order
    4) Then She Appeared -XTC
    5) White Riot – The Clash
    6) Bled White – Elliot Smith (Doc, that one is for you)
    7) Kind of Blue (the whole CD) – Miles Davis
    8) Ditry Work – Steely Dan
    9) South Central Rain – REM
    10) How Many More Times – Led Zepplin
