Don’t eat the turkey.. Adopt one!
The Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey Project:
Sponsor “adopt” a turkey who lives at Farm Sanctuary’s New York or California shelters for farm animals. For a one-time $20 adoption fee, adopters receive a color photograph of their turkey, an adoption certificate and a year’s subscription to Farm Sanctuary’s quarterly newsletter.
Bonus for vegetarians: You can actually house a turkey and know you are creating a safe and loving environment in which your adoptee can thrive.
It’s to bad I didn’t see this earlier. The 28 lbs. turkey we could have adopted is already roasting in the oven as I type this. Too bad.
