The rhythmic complexity and momentum of the traditional Yoruba music of Nigeria and the area is, to me, mesmerizing, irresistible. Even the most accomplished and nuanced jazz drummers cannot even begin to touch the density and significance of this music. Check out the Cuban Group: Los Muñequitos de Matanza on a CD called: ITO IBAN ECHU Sacred Yoruba Music of Cuba.

I would have to say a band dolowite would be a good drum driven band along with TUU

check out the album “Passion” by Peter Gabriel. There is also an album out there somewhere the is a mix of African and Scottish music, it’s pretty cool.
