Oh, SHIT!

Hog manure spill in Iowa mainly contained: “A hog feeding operation released about 15,000 gallons of manure over the weekend, state environmental officials said.

The spill was caused by a pump that was left running, said the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Some manure reached a county tile line that drains into the West Fork of the Des Moines River, department officials said.

Most of the manure, however, collected in a low spot near the hog feeding operation, the department said, and the remainder ran for about 1,000 feet through a cornfield before reaching the tile line.”
