Museum of shady devices

“Monday’s Wall Street Journal clued us in to the existance of FDA-historians who catalogue and organize vintage medical devices â€â€? banished gems that had their FDA approval yanked or shady devices that the FDA slammed. Some such forgotten wonders are the â€Â?Hemorr-Iceâ€Â?, a refrigerated thumb-sized plastic cylinder to treat hemroids (ouch), the “Waist Whittlerâ€Â?, a squeezing belt for fat ladies of the 60’s, and “Acupuncture Pantsâ€Â?, underwear with embedded magnets to supposedly increase male potency. Some devices were actually dangerous like the “Shoe Fluoroscope,â€Â? pictured right, which was used by shoe stores to x-ray (radiate) customer’s feet.”

Chipless Xbox Modding

“As many of you already know, it’s possible to hack the Xbox without the use of a mod chip. This has been going on for some time now – but I’d say within the last six months or so, the tools have evolved to the point that almost anyone can do it regardless of their tech skillz. So for all of you afraid of soldering or opening your Xbox, this may be the method for you.”

She grabbed the remote control and hit him over the head with it before banning him from watching any more matches in the Euro 2004 championship.”

Yahoo to launch 100MB free e-mail: “Yahoo on Tuesday will begin offering 100MB of extra storage for users of its free e-mail service as part of an overall redesign of its mail service.

Along with the 100MB boost, Yahoo will upgrade Mail Plus paid users to 2GB of storage and lower its yearly subscription from $29.99 a year to $19.99. Other a la carte services, such as POP e-mail forwarding, will consolidate under this plan and no longer be sold on a standalone basis.”

Eggalicious

As per In Touch Weekly reports (ahem!) it seems that Sandy Sandra Bullock is so choosy about what she eats, she carries her own eggs with her onto movie sets.

Bullock was in Las Vegas filming the sequel to Miss Congeniality and had vitamin-enriched, organic Omega 3 eggs shipped to the Four Seasons Hotel every week.

I may be a bit particular myself, with my organic consumables and such, but totin’ Omega 3 eggs? Wow.

…Actually, on that note, I think I need to hit the grocery store.
